The scope of Namefold’s creative naming tools and the checks needed before adopting a name.
Last updated: 2026-10-28

What the service provides
Namefold offers creative name suggestions, selected name insights, editorial guides, and an on-device shortlist. The current generator uses curated names and rule-based combinations. It does not call a language model. Descriptions influence theme selection within the supported rules; they do not produce an expert review of a business, person, language, or fictional world.
The interface supports English and Chinese. All 48 current naming tools are free to explore without payment information. There is no paid naming subscription in this version. Any future paid offer must explain its price and scope before purchase.
Suggestions need your judgment
Generated names and editorial examples are starting points. They may resemble existing names, businesses, works, places, or handles. The service does not search trademark registers, company registers, domains, app stores, or social platforms and does not reserve anything on your behalf. Check the relevant records and intended use before adopting a name.
Creative associations describe an impression, not verified etymology, official translation, a personality assessment, or a prediction. Selected name-insight entries link to a reference. Review that reference and other suitable sources when historical meaning or cultural context matters. Neither a generated name nor a displayed explanation is professional legal or registration advice.
Using the tools responsibly
Only submit material you are entitled to use. Avoid confidential information, another person's private details, impersonation, harassment, and requests intended to deceive. Do not use a suggestion to imply an affiliation or endorsement that does not exist. Automated abuse or attempts to bypass rate limits can interfere with the service and may be restricted.
Accounts and local saving
The public naming tools do not require an account. If you use an account, keep credentials private and use the account and support areas for their intended purposes. Administrator access is limited to authorized operators.
The shortlist is stored in the current browser, with a limit of 100 ideas and three candidates in a comparison. It does not synchronize with an account. Browser storage can be cleared or unavailable; export important work and manage downloaded files yourself. Signing in does not provide a cloud backup of favorites.
Content and names
You keep any rights you already hold in the material you submit. The service does not claim that a suggestion is unique or that selecting it grants exclusive rights. Original site illustrations, editorial copy, layout, and software are distinct from a generated naming idea; using the tools does not transfer ownership of the site itself. Any use of third-party names or references remains subject to the relevant rights and context.
Availability and changes
The service depends on its hosting and configured database being available. Requests have brief frequency limits, and some combinations of constraints can return no ideas. Optional account integrations may require separate configuration. Features and these terms should be reviewed together when the product changes. Keep a copy of work you need rather than relying on uninterrupted access.
Questions
The account support area can receive requests after sign-in. A public contact email and support administrator have not yet been configured, so responses may not be available immediately. These terms describe the current product and do not remove rights that apply under mandatory law.
