Change the label people see
Spotify separates its account username from the display name shown on your profile and playlists. Its profile-editing flow changes the display name. You do not need the username to sign in: use your email or the method you originally used, such as Apple. A display name is not a login credential.
On mobile or tablet
Tap your profile picture, open View profile, then choose Edit. Tap the current display name, enter the new label and save. Open the profile again to check the spelling. Keep the name readable at a small size; a long trail of symbols can be difficult to recognize beside a playlist.
On desktop
Click your profile picture and select Profile. Click your profile name, edit it and save the change. If you do not see the same controls, consult Spotify’s current help page linked here. Changing the public label does not require creating another account or entering your password into a naming website.
Make your listener identity recognizable
If you share playlists, use a consistent name and picture so friends recognize the collection. Aesthetic handles, music references or a nickname can work well. Keep login details private. Our name ideas are creative suggestions; they do not check trademarks or imply that a display name identifies only one person.
